The Art Fix is an electronic venue of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature. It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion; we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books, bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting from our efforts.

The Art Fix is a creation of, and brought to you by Augusto Fine Art.

ARTIST STATEMENT

The early art of Northern Ireland is rich in the highly distinctive motifs which characterize the Celtic style. Central to this was the tendency to express ideas by symbol. This premeditated abstraction resulted in the curious (and occasionally grotesque) icons that are the foundation of our art. To this day Northern Ireland remains steeped in such icons. From the ancient standing stones to the highly charged graffiti of Belfast, they are embroidered into the fabric of society and brandished from almost every street corner.

Beans Barton is a Texan local treasure! His art can be found on cars, walls, columns, CD & album covers, shoes, jackets, t-shirts, coffee tables, over sofas and upside-down in bathrooms. His creativity knows no bounds as he creates an endless array of fantastical creatures and humanoids.

Chinese money, or on the hand of God.

There really is no adequate explanation to define
Chinese money, except to say we bought a house with
little, or no money at the time.

Details are not necessary

We offered, they took.

Bankers and lawyers moved us
in three months.

Each step required "bold" checks
,the uncovered type, which nature, in turn,
covered.

Totally amazed we moved 406 steps from the beach.

(a month early, closing was moved up) .

I gasped,
hoping for good weather
and waiting for time to slow.

ART at WAR THE ARTIST'S VOICE

The Aldo Castillo Gallery will present an exhibition to provide a forum for all artists (established and emerging) to express their views on the current acts of war and war in general.

The Gallery's social mission is to increase awareness of the significant cultural contributions of international artists and Latin American artists in particular, through exhibitions, educational programs and live performances. Any "theatre" of war is so inconsistent with our overall mission that we feel compelled to encourage artists to express their individual perspectives as a means to further dialogue and present the multitude of opinions that surround this subject (it seems ironic that the current Iraq war is taking place in Mesopotamia, where one of the world's first civilizations and important cultures was located).

DEADLINE FOR EXHIBITION ENTRY: July 14th , 2004
