|
My work, often romantic in style, is frequently inspired by mythology and dreams.
I try to appeal to the conscious, as well as unconscious mind and to the spirit, by using symbols. My background in Cultural Anthropology and extensive studies of mythology and of the hidden, archetypal structures of thinking, have been very helpful to me in presenting such symbols and creating an imaginary world. |

Four international artists – Claire Jeanine Satin, Michael Baigneaux, Mary Bennett and Matthew Rose – open their own books and parse their words at Art Vitam Gallery with the exhibition: "The Art of Books and Writing." 9 October - 20 November, 2004. Treating the printed and hand-written word and the book as a pure plastic invention, these artists have produced their own versions of reading. |
