ARTIST STATEMENT

"I want to express my perception of the timeless beauty and ugliness that is ever present in all of humanity. I would like to somehow preserve the sanctity and trauma of childhood and the magic that enveloped it all; sacred nature, the delicate love and wrath of my creator that I was constantly aware of. Humanity. That is what I attempt to capture in my paintings: the human condition.
What is it that has touched me? I am constantly aware of the isolation of the human condition, the decay of our society in general, and the bittersweet taste of childhood that comes and goes with memories that seem more real, at times, than today. What does it mean to truly be HUMAN of you don't let yourself adapt and forget who it was you started out to be? This is why and what I try to express in my figurative artwork."

ARTIST STATEMENT

These are not paintings of objects. They are not souvenirs of places, and they do not tell stories. They do present a recognizible image, and an illusion of depth. The image consists of the sea, the horizon, and the sky. This is not the real, physical ocean, or atmosphere - it's a metaphor. I propose that, as such,it can be universal.

The Miller - Weitzel Gallery is seeking artists submissions. Miller - Weitzel Gallery is a new art venue opening soon in the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood. They'll be expanding the artistic community of Cleveland with a more traditional gallery setting. They're offering an open invitation to all artists working in any medium; all submissions will be reviewed, and the gallery will feature both local and national artists. Openings will be hosted on a bi-monthly basis. Deadline is ongoing, but send your work sooner for review. Augusto Fine Art is looking for artists to be featured on our electronic newsletter The Art Fix .

We are looking for emerging and established painters, illustrators, photographers, sculptors, glass artists, costume designers, set designers willing to share a piece of their talent to enlighten the life of all of us and to showcase their art.

There is not a limitation on the quantity of pieces to submit, or number of proposals by one artist. There is not a deadline. However, Augusto Fine Art reserves all the rights to select visual artwork to be displayed, and the rate of distribution.

Featured artists will be linked to their websites or to a contact information web page. No fees or commissions will be charged to be promoted or as a result of any sales resulting from this promotion.
