The Art Fix is an electronic venue of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature. It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion; we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books, bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting from our efforts.

The Art Fix is a creation of, and brought to you by Augusto Fine Art.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I love "to make" art/objects and draw inspiration from both visionary artists who create through obsession and need, and ancient art born of ritual and culture.

Recent work revolves around the concept of "home".
This concept can be interpreted through (for example) my use of materials such as windows and doors. These objects lend themselves to metaphors such as, window of opportunity, window of the soul, the concept of passage. The house, so often used as a symbol in fairy tales and cultural myths, conjures thoughts of both security and fear.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Imagine that you are standing inside a transparent ball suspended fifty feet above the Grand Canyon floor. You are higher than some canyon walls and lower than others. You have paints and a brush, and you begin to paint what you see on the inside surface of the ball. You paint the north face, then the east, south, and west. Finally, you paint everything visable above and below you. You move your globe to safe ground and step out to observe your paintings.

Walking around the sphere, you see that you have captured the entire three dimensional landscape. In fact, you've discovered the structure of your visual experience.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My art reflects an appreciation of color and light. Both are the inspiration and the challenge of painting. One of the wonderful aspects of art is its lack of limitations. This allows, and even encourages me to utilize a wide variety of subject matter and to find unique ways of presenting these artistically. I paint whatever feels interesting and exciting to me.
