The Art Fix is an electronic venue
of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature.
It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion;
we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books,
bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting
from our efforts.
The Art Fix is a creation of, and
brought to you by
Augusto Fine Art.

Zulia has been painting for 26 years. She was born in Ponce, Puerto
Rico where she got her degree in art. She lived in New Mexico for
12 years where she obtained a Masters Degree in Art Education from
the University of New Mexico. Now she travels and participates in
shows all over the United States and has won many awards. Color,
lines and design are very important in her art. The themes and subjects
of her paintings are all developed from her active imagination.

ARTISTIC EPIPHANY |
|
|
|
|
There is a strong current of visual art-making that runs
through my family, which I resisted quite successfully until
that moment in my 25th year. My mother is a very accomplished
sculptor and painter, my sister is a sculptor, and my grandmother
was a painter. I was a musician and felt no particular attraction
to the visual arts. Why it struck me one day that that is
what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, without ever
having done it, is a mystery to me.
One last note: People sometimes assume that a guy that makes
dark and sometimes frightening photographs must be dark and
frightening. My response to that assumption is: Heck no. Im
a normal guy who likes sports, nature, his family, and most
of all, food.

ARTIST STATEMENT |
|
|
|
|
|
|
My art is about bringing forth my inner landscape and sharing it
with the outside world.
I am dedicated to the process of living. It is through these eyes
that I find life itself an inspiration. It is my intention to create
images that will unlock and create a bridge for openness and to
seek what is beyond ourselves. This is what I strive for. Freedom
in the creative process... Freedom in life.
