The Art Fix is an electronic venue of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature. It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion; we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books, bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting from our efforts.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Closed Caption Series

The Closed Caption Series is a body of work that Matthew Linton returns to periodically. He photographs popular television media with the intention of creating new narratives.
This context play is as much an exercise in language and gesture as some of the other works found in the “photography” section.

The Dinner Party (Acrylic on Wood )
ARTIST STATEMENT
Crack in the Cosmic Egg (Acrylic on Wood)

Art is a fantastic place for discovery and exploration. Often when I'm painting, I create a sanctuary to play, have fun and release. I find myself entertaining emotions, mental-image pictures, patterns, ideas, lost dreams, future aspirations and desires. Sometimes, they are very demanding and ask for things like piping hot tea and fresh baked scones. Usually, I only give them color, pattern and if they are on their best behavior, texture. Eventually, when we've had a thorough chat, seen eye to eye, given each other a proper 'hello' if you will, the painting "POPS." Layers and layers and layers of bright colored shiny plastic attract and repel me, as an image presents itself. I marvel that it came from my hands, from my subconscious, from my connection to Source. That those are my pictures, that that energy was traveling through my space, that I really feel that way. My mirror reflects back, it's usually amusing, but it ain't always pretty.

Harlequin bug (Mixed media on Copper)

Dust from a Moths Wing

I flatter myself sometimes
Believing that at frequent random moments
You find yourself thinking of me.

Perhaps because I think of you
Often these days without being sad,
My memories of you are as clear
As yesterday.
(More like ghosts or dried flowers
Than memories.)

Now I find myself in places avoided
For months,
Once reserved for you and I alone,
(Our special excursions)
Without the sudden familiar pain
Of old associations.

December Theme:
Nude Expressions

Featured Artists: David Kofton, Amy Evans-Baker, Augusto Bordelois, (Eolake Stobblehouse/Special Edition) Gleb G. Zverev, Marques Vickers, Erwan Barbey-Chariou, Derek Jones.Stephane Bourson,Eric Boutiler-Brown, Henrik Abelby, Naushér Banaji, Salvatore Di Giovana.

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I’ve tried hard to put together a gallery that won't scare people away. I was very careful not to cross the border into porno, but more so into fashion, so I think you will enjoy these artistic works on expressions of the body. I have discovered so many artists putting this gallery together I could not exhibit them all, so I chose the expressive nude work for you all to discover. In the months ahead in 2005, I will put together a gallery on Fashion.
