The Art Fix is an electronic venue of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature. It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion; we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books, bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting from our efforts.

The Art Fix is a creation of, and brought to you by Augusto Fine Art.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Francisca Blázquez creates jewelry, sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, installation, performances, photography, digital photography, net. art and animation from a common ground based in the freedom of artistic processes; up to date she accounts more than 30 solo shows in 10 different countries, and more than 200 group exhibitions. This artist from Madrid is permanently searching for light, beauty and harmony, in this very complex world of ours. At her art studio she gets inspired when looking at the sun, the clouds, the daily breeze, the freshness of the air coming from the Plains, and when possible she escapes to the Mediterranean Sea in order to reenergize herself. Finally, we could say that the constant relationship among different art disciplines is one reality strengthening her creations.

ARTIST STATEMENT

When I first began my career in photography, I briefly worked as a photojournalist for various local newspapers. Frequently, I found myself staring at the darker, seamier side of life through my viewfinder. I always had a desire to focus on the beauty, and, of course, the wonderful colors of our natural world - a yearning, if you will, to illustrate the other side of the coin. I guess you could say…my photos are my way of showing that the grass really is greener on the other side.

Conversation (oil on canvas)

ARTIST STATEMENT

I view painting as a language uniquely suited to serve us in ways a verbal language cannot. To this end, I use form, color, and texture to convey emotions. I seek out objects that elicit an emotional response and choose them as metaphors conveying my themes. Consequently, my flowers are never just about flowers.

December Theme:
Nude Expressions

Featured Artists: David Kofton, Amy Evans-Baker, Augusto Bordelois, (Eolake Stobblehouse/Special Edition) Gleb G. Zverev, Marques Vickers, Erwan Barbey-Chariou, Derek Jones.Stephane Bourson,Eric Boutiler-Brown, Henrik Abelby, Naushér Banaji, Salvatore Di Giovana.

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I’ve tried hard to put together a gallery that won't scare people away. I was very careful not to cross the border into porno, but more so into fashion, so I think you will enjoy these artistic works on expressions of the body. I have discovered so many artists putting this gallery together I could not exhibit them all, so I chose the expressive nude work for you all to discover. In the months ahead in 2005, I will put together a gallery on Fashion.
