The Art Fix is an electronic venue
of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature.
It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion;
we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books,
bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting
from our efforts.
The Art Fix is a creation of, and
brought to you by
Augusto Fine Art.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Like most artists, there are several factors that influence
my work as a photographer. My training and practice as a psychoanalyst
facilitates free associations that are reflected in my images,
and enables me to work intuitively with my models. Residing
and working in New York City affords me access to diverse
cultural genres, in particular dance, which is a primary source
for discovering my models. I endeavor to engage them as collaborators,
giving them the freedom to respond to a concept or interact
with an object, as I visually capture their expressions and
movements. I am inspired by the Dutch Masters to search for
unusual ways to utilize light and, like the Surrealists, I
shape my fantasies into dream-like realities.

ARTIST STATEMENT
When people look at my work, they often ask
'What are these paintings about?' I'm always a bit reluctant
to give answers since I believe that the viewers' response
is just as valid as the artists' response to the creative
impulse. I don't want my views to limit your vision of the
work. For those who are engaged with the work, each one takes
away something different. Many, perhaps most, artists want
you to 'get it,' to discover their secret motivation and intention
for their creations. But I just can't imagine telling you
what that might be, when the fact is even I don't know.

The eight piece, three-dimensional series Newcastle
Architecture was inspired while I was living in Newcastle
England (2000-2001).
Coming from a small town in rural America, the post-industrial
cityscape of Newcastle seemed to radiate with a rich history
unfamiliar to me.

electronic newsletter The
Art Fix .
We are looking for emerging and established painters, illustrators,
photographers, sculptors, glass artists, costume designers,
set designers willing to share a piece of their talent to
enlighten the life of all of us and to showcase their art.
There is not a limitation on the quantity of pieces to submit,
or number of proposals by one artist. There is not a deadline.
However, Augusto
Fine Art reserves all the rights to select visual artwork
to be displayed, and the rate of distribution.
Featured artists will be linked to their websites or to a
contact information web page. No fees or commissions will
be charged to be promoted or as a result of any sales resulting
from this promotion.
