The Art Fix is an electronic venue of free and alternative promotion and distribution of art and literature. It is not a representing art agency. We don't charge fees for promotion; we don't sell, or get commissions for the sales of artwork, books, bobbleheads, washing machines, kitchenware or puppies resulting from our efforts.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have been drawn to capturing the variations in light, shadow, and form since childhood. This fascination has taken me through a number of creative outlets over the years, from architecture to theatrical set design, and on to filmmaking and web site design. Some of these interests I've just
dabbled in, others I have pursued with great passion. Photography, however, is the one creative outlet that I keep coming back to. I've always been mesmerized by the works of Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and others of their generation, all masters of black and white photography in the early-mid 1900's. Having moved into digital photography a couple years ago, I've found that I now have much more control, and am able to produce images that convey my vision much more precisely.

In February 2004, The Art Fix project started with 250 art-related contacts in my personal list. Today, The Art Fix campaigns reach a targeted art-related audience of around 15,000 weekly. By the end of 2005, The Art Fix's network is expected to reach 20,000-25,000 art-related contacts. To date, around 700 artists and galleries have been promoted in The Art Fix campaigns. The Art Fix project filled a promotional void and need of a large art-related audience with a professional look, credibility and an honest message "Promoting art for the sake of sanity, happiness and art itself." However, the more we grow, the more expensive and time consuming it gets to sustain this free venue.

If you like THE ART FIX, please help support it!
You can now make secure online donations with your credit card through PayPal.
Gifts of all sizes will provide valuable much-needed support for this project. THANKS!

Jacob Berenstein

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Berenstein’s utilization of everyday machines and industrial objects is an important characteristic of his sculpture, but not the only one. Berenstein”s creations are not simply abstract assemblages. Rather, the artist often relies on recognizable objects, such as helmets, recycled gas masks, a yarmulke, or a gauge, to create figural compositions which convey a sense of history and place. The use of military refuse imbues. Berenstein”s work with reminders of the conflicts that have plagued the Middle East, yet the artist’s sense of humor and optimism remains apparent. Guided by a love of materials and design, Berenstein transforms refuse into objects of beauty.
