Michael Berkowitz

ABOUT THE ARTIST

In "Erotic Flashback", Berkowitz sets out to create a new sort of erotic feminine "perfection", tearing down our ingrained notions of beauty, and replacing them with a timeless grandeur that flaunts the
more interesting aspects of the feminine form. As a photographer, he approaches every model with the radical attitude that she is perfect exactly as she is. Berkowitz refuses to photograph women who've had cosmetic surgery, including breast implants. Instead, he prefers shooting non-professional models of various ages, ethnicities, and sizes who might bear scars, cellulite, asymmetrical breasts, and who may defy modern beauty taboos, including flaunting body hair. Simply, his art is the creation of perfection by exposing imperfection.

In February 2004, The Art Fix project started with 250 art-related contacts in my personal list. Today, The Art Fix campaigns reach a targeted art-related audience of around 15,000 weekly. By the end of 2005, The Art Fix's network is expected to reach 20,000-25,000 art-related contacts. To date, around 700 artists and galleries have been promoted in The Art Fix campaigns. The Art Fix project filled a promotional void and need of a large art-related audience with a professional look, credibility and an honest message "Promoting art for the sake of sanity, happiness and art itself." However, the more we grow, the more expensive and time consuming it gets to sustain this free venue.

oooIf you like THE ART FIX, please help support it!

ARTIST STATEMENT

Educated people are to uneducated ones almost as the living are to the dead. However, Education is not enough. You must also do your best to understand people. There is the education of the schools and the education of the streets. One should be a dedicated pupil of both.

I have disappeared under costume and a mask of the clown. My ideas, intentions, actions are unpredictable. I am able to get reincarnate constantly and with laughter to do things, that for many can seem forbidden or obscene. To love not loving ... ".
