Music as a Universal Language

Glass mosaic mural on cement Hardie board, 15' x 5', The Lillian and Betty Ratner School, Pepper Pikes, Ohio 2009. During this project, I worked with around 130 k-8 graders at Ratner. It took 12 days from design to installation. The first, studetns sketched a lot of ideas that I used to produced three different concepts. By the end of the week after settling on the abstract concept, I transfer and color coded the panels while students sorted the mixed glass. The second week was spent setting the glass pieces and grouting. On monday after the grout was cured, I sealed the mural and installation was the next day with the help of a group of students.
